IAAMA Membership Categories

The IAAMA offers these categories of membership:

Accredited (Full) Membership - for the practitioner of aromatherapy,

Teacher membership - for Teachers of aromatherapy

Student Membership - for those enrolled in IAAMA accredited courses, and

Associate Membership - general membership for people interested in aromatherapy.

Accredited (Full) Member

Accredited members of the IAAMA must meet the current training requirements set by the IAAMA, hold a current Senior / Level 2 first aid certification and have current Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance cover.

Membership runs for 12 months from 30 April and is renewed annually.

Accredited Members have access to the following services and benefits:

  • Membership Certificate
  • Permitted use of the initials M-IAAMA
  • Use of IAAMA logo
  • Eligible to nominate for IAAMA Council, Regional coordinator or Sub-committee
  • Full voting rights
  • Access to all IAAMA meetings, activities and events
  • Access to member Forums via the website
  • Automatic subscription to the journal "Aromatherapy Today"
  • Automatic subscription to the AromaRapid e-newsletter 
  • Full access to all merchandise and promotional material
  • Provider status with recognised private health insurance schemes
  • Inclusion in practitioner listing for referral to the public

APPLY for FULL MEMBERSHIP

Teacher member

Teacher members must be Accredited (Full) Members, have a minimum of 200 hours relevant industry experience and hold a teaching qualification such as Cert IV Training and Assessment or equivalent.

APPLY for TEACHER MEMBERSHIP

Student Member

Student members of the IAAMA are currently enrolled in an Aromatherapy course accredited by the IAAMA.

Student membership runs for one year, with a maximum of two years whilst enrolled in an accredited course from the date of joining.

Student Members are entitled to:

  • Access to all IAAMA meetings, activities and events
  • Access to member Forums via the website
  • Automatic subscription to the IAAMA e-journal "Simply Essential" 
  • Full access to all merchandise and promotional material
  • Fast tracking upgrade to Accredited member status (if studying at an Accredited IAAMA school).

APPLY for STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

Associate Member

Associate members of the IAAMA are interested person's from the general public who do not have any specific qualifications but are interested in aromatherapy.

Membership runs for 12 months from 30 April and is renewed annually.

Associate Members are entitled to:

  • Access to all IAAMA meetings, activities and events
  • Access to member Forums via the website
  • Automatic subscription to the journal "Aromatherapy Today" 
  • Full access to all merchandise and promotional material
